About Us

What we do

A carer is a person who looks after someone who has a disability, mental illness, drug or alcohol dependency, chronic condition, dementia, terminal or serious illness; or who is frail or needs care due to ageing. They do this not as their paid job, but as a family member or friend.

Australia’s carers are two and a half times more likely to have low wellbeing than the average Australian adult. Carer Escapes is here to help.

We recognise that many carers manage challenging situations and may also be suffering from their own health concerns which can put them at risk. Taking time out is not a luxury, it is essential.

Carer Escapes aims to improve the wellbeing of carers through community workshops, events and retreats. Special emphasis is placed on facilitating connection and learning valuable tools to manage stress and anxiety. We hope to empower caregivers to take charge of their health and wellbeing for lasting and positive outcomes.
